I absolutely love doing this. Inspiring, being inspired. You just never know what someone’s story will be, and it will ALWAYS surprise you. It will also always inspire you. Kristin’s personal and professional story with “A Slice of Heaven - Cakes by Kristin” is no different.
A Slice of Heaven – Cakes by Kristin
Kristin is the owner and creative mind behind “A Slice of Heaven – Cakes by Kristin.” Despite the name, cakes (for any event imaginable) are not all she does! Kristin does “anything in the dessert family,” included but not limited to, sugar free, gluten free, dairy free and other allergens, as she says. From chocolate fountains and mini desserts to cheesecakes and custom cookies, A Slice of Heaven has all sweet treats for your next event.
Take a look at her Facebook page to see the insane, absolute talent this business babe has.
Don’t forget to notice her 5-star reviews. I mean…. ALLLLL her reviews are nothing less than a perfect 5!
Then, book her at sliceofheavencake@gmail.com.
Do it. This is your “take action” call if you didn’t get the hint. 😊
There’s nothing more to say about it but CALL KRISTIN for all your dessert wants (let’s be honest… NEEDS).
Please note these fabulous accomplishments!!! - Rated in the Top 5 for Best Wedding Cakes & Best Bakery on Detroit's A-List.
- People's Choice Award Winner at Indulgence 2014.
Alright. A little insight is warranted. I guess. IF you really needed more to convince you! Kristin creates all her goods from her home. Her plans to open a brick-and-mortar store in January 2020 were foiled by Covid19. (Amazing how Covid19 comes into everyone’s plans, business or not, these past 2 years!) Kristin has made the best of this change of plans and has found that running the business out of her home allows for a better work/life balance and lower overhead. She simply limits the number of orders she can take each week and calls on family to help with deliveries and such when needed. This is one smart babe of business!
So, the purpose of what I do is to inspire all of you through the stories of others, right? Well.
I feel right here is where WE can inspire Kristin. She has had her URL for EIGHT YEARS and is now trying to build it. SOOOO, let’s inspire her to get busy on it by visiting it:
The Story Behind the Business Babe
By looking at Kristin’s Facebook page you’d think that this was always her dream, that making cakes was always her passion and what she saw herself doing. Well, you’d be wrong. Making cakes (and SO many other sweets) kind of fell into her lap. While she was pregnant with her first child in 2009, she was making cakes part-time, but the orders just kept rolling in! A direct sign of the talent this babe has if you ask me!
At this time, Kristin worked for “The Social Connection” in Ferndale, Michigan and loved event planning. She got her start, and the word out while working there. They even allowed her to cater some of their events! While Kristin was pregnant with their second child in 2016, she decided it was time to invest all that time and effort into something of her own.
Wah La. A new business babe was born.
So, like me, you’re probably asking if baking wasn’t always her dream/passion, what was? I have that answer for you.
Kristin’s true passion is theatre. She actually minored in it in college! She majored in broadcasting and landed a career as co-host of Country 107.1 out of Port Huron, Michigan for a time. It’s clear this babe always had an eye for business, marketing, and an abundance of talent!

Little Stage Faces Face Painting
As if making cakes (and being the best at it!) and raising 2 boys weren’t enough for one woman, this boss babe got bored and thought she just needed more to do. Kristin then started “Little Stage Faces” a company that would be happy to come to your event with a magician, henna artist, face painter… well, you get the idea! You can check out her second business on Facebook as well at https://www.facebook.com/LittleStageFacesFacePainting AND/or book their services by email at littlestagefaces@gmail.com.
Or better yet, if you’re local to Fraser, Michigan, you can check them out in action at the Vintage House on Thursday, March 17th, 2022, from 10am-2pm. Channel 99.5 WYCD will also be broadcasting live!
Here’s the address:
Vintage House of Fraser
31816 Utica Road
Fraser, MI. 48026

I cannot end this without mentioning the March of Dimes, an organization close to Kristin and her family. While you’re here supporting a business babe… show your love for the March of Dimes. We all win.
